Our COVID-19 Response
Stay Safe. Stay Well.
Like many of you, we at Webber Naturals have been closely monitoring the COVID-19 pandemic. Our thoughts are with everyone who’s been affected by the virus, and we thank those brave citizens working tirelessly to care for us during this time. We also thank those working to keep our communities running by providing essentials like food and medicine.
We all have an important part to play in preventing the spread of COVID-19. As a designated essential service, we’re doing our part by focusing on our two main guiding principles:
1) to protect the health and safety of our employees and
2) to protect our ability to produce and supply safe health supplements.
Here’s how we’re making this happen.
Protecting the health and safety of our employees
Since the initial warnings from government officials, we have enabled many of our staff to work from home to help increase the physical (social) distancing within the office, warehouse, and manufacturing facilities.
Employees are required to stay home if they show any symptoms of respiratory or flu-like illness. Any staff returning from outside the country must self-isolate for 14 days and provide medical clearance before returning to work.
We have established a strategic task force to monitor the recommendations of government agencies.
Bolstering our facilities
Webber Naturals is extremely grateful to our dedicated staff who are working diligently to keep our facilities running. Our current level of sanitation and manufacturing practices are well established. Our manufacturing buildings are GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) accredited, meaning we apply and meet standard pharmaceutical protocols for cleanliness and hygiene, among many other quality assurance standards. You can read more on GMPs here.
Furthermore, proper air filtration, well-designed operating procedures, thorough routine sanitation, environment monitoring, and strict adherence to cleaning standards are the norm. However, since the outbreak of COVID-19, we have taken additional measures such as disinfecting all common areas throughout the day using 70% isopropanol, a disinfectant recommended by CCOHS, Public Health Agency Department – Government of Canada, HealthLink BC, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), to ensure our work space remains a safe space for our employees.
As new information emerges, we will continue to follow the guidance of public health authorities and adjust our policies as required.
Restrictive travel
While we place great value on in-person meetings and industry events, all non-essential travel has been suspended until further notice.
Screening to help slow the spread of COVID-19
We have taken extraordinary measures in all facilities to ensure we are as safe as possible. Beginning April 1, 2020, all employees, contractors, and visitors were required to undergo a temperature screen upon entry to our facilities. Temperatures are taken using a non-contact infrared thermometer at the time of entering the building by a trained security guard or staff member. Screeners are wearing personal protective equipment to ensure their safety as well as yours.
Protecting our ability to produce and supply safe health supplements
We understand that supporting the health and well-being of you and your family is one of the most important things right now. We have increased our in-house inventory on potentially impacted items, including certain ingredients, safety supplies, and contacted key suppliers and distributors to hold additional inventory for future needs.
As always, we appreciate your loyalty and will continue to keep you informed. We understand this situation is difficult for everyone. We will continue to diligently maintain the well-being of our employees, retailers, and you, our valued customer.
